About Michael Cartwright

Born and raised in Stockton-On-Tees, my journey into photography began in my mid-twenties when I discovered a passion for capturing meaningful moments. Over the years, this passion has grown into a career that has spanned more than a decade, allowing me to create timeless images for countless couples.

After studying at Cleveland College of Art & Design and The University of Teesside, I became a full-time professional photographer in the summer of 2012. Weddings quickly became a central part of my work, and I’ve cherished every opportunity to join couples on one of the most significant days of their lives.

I understand that every celebration is unique. That’s why I take the time to work closely with each couple, ensuring their individual needs are met. I believe in delivering not only stunning photographs but also a seamless and enjoyable experience. From your initial consultation to the delivery of your final gallery, my goal is to make the process stress-free, allowing you to focus on celebrating your day.

When I’m not photographing weddings, I love traveling to capture breathtaking landscapes and running photography workshops. In 2014, my wife Emma and I launched our family portrait studio in Yarm, where we continue to welcome hundreds of families each year.

Balancing studio management, workshops, weddings, and family life has taught me the value of quality over quantity. I limit the number of weddings taken each season to ensure every couple receives my full energy, attention, and creativity.

This variety in my work fuels my passion and has given me extensive experience in handling dynamic situations with confidence. My balanced approach to life allows me to bring focus and enthusiasm to every wedding, ensuring I deliver the best for my clients.
